Spread of coronavirus: Doctors advise people to isolate themselves

Tamil Nadu : Due to the continuous spread of the corona virus epidemic in Tamil Nadu, doctors have advised people with symptoms to isolate themselves for 7 days. Corona infection is spreading rapidly in many countries including Singapore and Hong Kong. The Union Health Ministry and the World Health Organization have reported that it also has an impact in India. Also, it was told that its effect is not serious and the severity is low. Doctors have reported that in the last two weeks, there has been a slight increase in the number of people seeking treatment with symptoms of fever, cold and cough in major cities of Tamil Nadu including Chennai. However, not everyone is being tested for COVID-19, but people requiring intensive care and undergoing surgery are being examined. It is reported that some of them have been confirmed to be infected. As a result, surgery has been postponed in some places. They are being treated after recovering from the infection. In this regard, infectious disease specialist Dr. Vijayalakshmi Balakrishnan said:

The corona virus, also known as ‘COVID-19’, has been spreading in society for the last five years. Like the influenza virus, it also spreads during the cold and rainy season. In this regard, the corona virus has been detected in some people just before the rainy season this year.

This was revealed in tests conducted on people admitted to the intensive care unit. Otherwise, corona testing is not recommended for people with common cold or fever.

The current coronavirus outbreak may be a mild form of the Omicron virus, which is why the infection is limited to the upper respiratory tract and lungs.

It is possible to get rid of the infection in a week. Also, people with co-morbidities, the elderly and those taking immunity-suppressing medicines should take extra precautions. They should consult doctors and get treated. He said that for others, isolating themselves is enough.
