Sonali told that nowadays actors are asked whether they would like to have link-up rumors with their co-stars. He said that in the early days of his career, ‘gossip was just to promote the film and actors had no choice.’ Sonali said, “Gossip and news makers are jumping to conclusions – whether it’s who you’re seeing or the affairs you have going on or even your fights with your co-stars – ‘where did that come from?’ Come within the scope of? And most of the time, things that were written about me were not true at all. These days, actors are less and less asked if they would like to have link-up rumors with their co-stars.”
He further added, “In my time, we were not even asked, and those gossips were just to promote the film, and the actors had no choice. One of the ways to add the lead pair was to stay in the news. The motive was…they used to do it with such gusto (they used to do it so diligently) I think they (such tricks) might have worked but I found these things really strange to make an assumption about an actor. He also talked about ‘Rags to Riches Story’ for an actor at present. Comparing it to the initial days of his career, he said that he was told that this fact “I came from a middle-class family,” Sonali said, adding that she was not comfortable with lying. Know that many colleagues have done this”.
