Nauharadhar. Lal Singh died three and a half months ago in Kanari village of Ronhat area of Sirmaur, which was prominently raised by ‘Divya Himachal’, but now it seems that the claims of the government are proving to be hollow. During that time, the department also took cognizance. On Wednesday, his son Rati Ram also breathed his last in TB Hospital Dharampur. Late Lal Singh’s grandson and granddaughter are also in the grip of the disease. Grandson Vivek is undergoing treatment in TV Hospital Dharampur, while granddaughter Ritika is being treated in Medical College Nahan. Lal Singh’s wife Sodhi Devi and daughter-in-law Satya Devi are also in the grip of the disease, but the matter of relief is that the health of both these mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is improving. Late Lal Singh’s family is very poor.
There is not even a toilet in the house. Five members of the family had fallen prey to a dangerous disease like TB. Lal Singh died due to the disease on 22 February this year. The family members and villagers had requested the government for help for the treatment of the poor family. The villagers had demanded to include this poor family in the BPL list. They had also demanded financial help for the poor family and had also demanded the government to build a toilet in the house of this family. The administration had assured to include this family in the BPL list and had also assured to build a toilet in the house of this poor family as soon as possible. Not only this, the administration had also assured financial help to the poor family. The villagers allege that the surprising thing is that till date neither a toilet has been constructed in the house of this family nor has this poor family been brought in the BPL. The assurance of financial help given to this poor family also proved to be hollow.
