Solution to traffic problem in Chennai.. Plan to widen 6 roads
Tamil Nadu: 6 major roads are to be widened to solve the traffic problem in Chennai. It is reported that Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has directed the officials to prepare a project report in this regard. Traffic congestion in Chennai is increasing day by day. The speed of important roads of the city remains slow during peak hours. As a result, people going to office in the morning and students going to school and college are facing a lot of trouble due to the increased use of vehicles among the people in Chennai. The Tamil Nadu government is taking various measures to reduce traffic congestion. The Tamil Nadu government is carrying out activities like construction of flyovers, widening of roads.
In such a situation, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin held a consultation with all the departmental officials at the Chennai Chief Secretariat a few days ago. During this consultation, the improvement of the roads and flyovers of Chennai Corporation was discussed. Also, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has directed the officials to prepare a project report on the widening of important roads in Chennai as well.
Kamarajar Road from Walaja Road Traffic Junction to Lighthouse (3 km)
New Avadi Road should be widened from MTH Road to Periyar Road. (2 km),
Sardar Patel Road from Gandhi Mandapam to Anna Road Junction (2 km)* on Gandhi Mandapam Road, from Anna Nuanthu Nulagam to Kotturpuram Bridge (200 m).
Dr. Radhakrishnan Road, Chennai City Centre on Kamarajar Road (800 m).
Greenways Road, from Borsor Estate to Sri V.G., Palam, bus routes should be widened.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has given appropriate instructions to the officials to study the possibilities and take steps to improve infrastructure and construct new flyovers. After the feasibility study, it seems that steps are likely to be taken to widen these roads. If everything goes as planned, it will be a big relief project for motorists in Chennai. Because the 6 roads mentioned above are the most important roads in Chennai. If these are widened the congestion would reduce considerably.
