Snowfall in high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir, rain in plains

Srinagar: Snowfall started in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, while it rained in the plains. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of the Union Territory till March 4. The minimum temperature was 4.5 degrees in Srinagar, minus 3.2 in Gulmarg and 1.3 degrees in Pahalgam. The minimum temperature was minus 3.1 in Leh city of Ladakh region, minus 9.4 in Kargil and minus 8.5 degrees in Dras. The minimum temperature was 14.3 degrees in Jammu city, 11.2 in Katra, 8.4 in Batote, 6.8 in Bhaderwah and 6.6 degrees in Banihal.
