Smuggler selling intoxicating tablets worth lakhs arrested
Bhilai. In order to run a campaign against illegal drug dealers in the district, instructions were received by SP Ramgopal Garg (I.P.S.) to trace the drug dealers and take action against them, in compliance with which Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Abhishek Jha (R.P.S.), Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Dr. Anurag Jha (R.P.S.), City Superintendent of Police (Bhilai Nagar) under the guidance of Vishwa Deepak Tripathi (R.P.S.) and A.C. ACC under the leadership of CU in-charge inspector Naresh Patel, inspector Santosh Mishra and police station in-charge Vaishali city inspector Mamta Ali Sharma. A joint team of U and police station Vaishali Nagar was formed and deployed for action.
The team was continuously keeping an eye on the drug dealers and special sources were also deployed. Former habitual drug dealers released from jail were being monitored. Meanwhile, the ACCU team came to know from special sources that Surendra Pal Singh Jaitkham, resident of Gurunanak Nagar, had arrived in front of the public stage in Rajiv Nagar in a white colored Activa number CG 04 KD 0399, wearing a light brown color shirt and light gray color. He is wearing the pants of a businessman who is selling banned drug tablet Alprazolam. On receiving information, he was surrounded and caught by the team.
After duly searching the accused Surendra Pal Singh on the spot, 15 leaves containing 75 tablets in each leaf, a total of 1125 pieces of Alprazolam intoxicating tablets and sale amount of Rs 8,000/- were found in his possession. Due to which, while taking action on the spot, the said drug Alprazolam tablets, cash amount and 01 Activa vehicle Jumla used in the incident, Mashruka worth approximately Rs 1,04,000/- were recovered and seized. Due action was taken against the accused on the spot itself. Crime number 18/2024 has been registered against the accused from Vaishali Nagar police station and further action is being taken by registering it under Section 8, 21 NDPS Act. In the above proceedings, Police Officer Keshendra Singh Chauhan from Police Station Vaishali Nagar, Constable Rajesh Sinha, Birendra Yadav, Dinesh Jaiswal, Bhupendra Baghel and Police Officer Shamit Mishra from ACCU, P.R. Sagir Khan, constable Arvind Mishra, Rinku Soni, Rakesh Chaudhary, Rakesh Anna, Guneet Kumar, Bhavesh Patel, Ajay Gehlot played notable roles.
