Raipur: Six new state-of-the-art devices for the treatment of diseases related to the heart, lungs, and circulatory system have been installed at the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department of ACI located in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, affiliated to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College. These advanced tools were provided under Corporate Social Responsibility by the ICICI Foundation. On Tuesday, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal inaugurated these modern equipments in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department. The inauguration event was attended by Raipur North MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Raipur Rural MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, Commissioner of Medical Education Shri Janak Prasad Pathak, Director of Medical Education Dr. Vishnu Datt, Principal of Medical College Dr. Tripti Nagaria, Superintendent Dr. SBS. Netam, Head of Pathology Department Dr. Arvind Neral, Head of Cardiology Department Dr. Smit Srivastava, and CTVS Department Head Dr. Krishna Kant Sahu, along with ICICI Foundation Zonal Head Shri Vivekanand Dubey.
Health Minister Shri Jaiswal, while inaugurating these medical equipment, mentioned that ICICI Foundation has equipped the state’s largest government medical college’s Cardiothoracic Surgery Department with these ultramodern machines to facilitate better treatment of patients suffering from heart, lung, and circulatory system diseases. The use of these machines will make open-heart surgery and bypass surgery more convenient. He emphasized the importance of the contributions of every employee involved in healthcare services, comparing it to the teamwork involved in building the Ram Setu.*
Dr. Krishna Kant Sahu, Head of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department, provided information about the devices, stating that these modern audio/visual alarms, ECG, RSP, SPO2, NIBP, IBP, and CCO configured monitors from Philips, including a central station, have been provided for the ICU. Additionally, an automatic regulation timer (ACT), echocardiography, echo machine, volumetric pump, and LED-equipped spotlights for small surgical procedures have been installed in the LED-equipped spotlight department. These machines are made of advanced technology. Since the start of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department in 2017, 1250 surgeries related to heart, chest, lungs, and blood vessels have been performed so far.
