Sita Navami is being celebrated this year on 29th April i.e. today. Sita Navami is celebrated on the Navami of Shukla Paksha of Vaikhash month. It has been said in the scriptures that if a man or woman worships Mother Sita on this day, then all his troubles go away. The auspicious time for worship of Sita Navami will be from 10.59 am to 01.38 pm. Means the worship period will be of 02 hours 38 minutes. Along with this, Ravi Yoga is also going to be formed today, which will be from 12:47 in the afternoon to 05:42 in the morning.

On the day of Sita Navami, Vaishnav people worship Mother Sita and Lord Shri Ram. Also keep fast. It is said that by worshiping on this day, one gets the fruits equal to donating. Sita Navami Story
There was no rain in the state of Mithila for a long time, due to which the people there and the king Janak there were very worried. Then King Janak asked the sages the solution to this problem, then they told King Janak that if he solves it himself, Lord Indra will be very happy and it will start raining in the kingdom. According to the suggestion of the sages, the king himself started plowing. While plowing, his plow collided with an urn, in which there was a very beautiful girl child.
King Janak was childless, so he was very happy to see that girl and he adopted that girl and brought her home. The king named that girl Sita. The day King Janak got that lovely baby girl Sita, it was the Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. Since then this day was celebrated in the name of Sita Navami or Janaki Navami.
