Siddipet: A woman, whose husband had undergone surgery to become a woman, has reportedly contracted killers to eliminate him in Siddipet district. A wife has been arrested along with two murderers after allegedly strangulating her husband to death. According to the police, the woman, Daripalli Vedha, had offered a ransom of Rs 18 lakh to kill her husband Daripalli Venkatesh after undergoing gender reassignment surgery and converting into “Roja”. It is said that the killers strangled Roja until she died on December 11 after having a drinking party with her. According to Siddipet One-Town police, accused Daripalli Vedha married Venkatesh, a resident of Siddipet town, in 2014. The couple had an eight-year-old daughter. However, his life changed when Venkatesh got involved in surgery and he changed his name to Roja, after which he started roaming on the streets of Siddipet city to earn money. When Vedha worked as a teacher in a private school, Roja would visit the school and argue with her. According to reports, Vedha lost her job after Roja created problems in school, police said, adding that Roja was also forcing Vedha to send her daughter to beg. Hurt by this, Vedha reportedly decided to end Roza. They paid Rs 4,60 lakh while offering Rs 18 lakh as advance to Biyini Ramesh (32), who runs a shoe shop in Siddipet town. Ramesh fought back with the help of Ippa Shekhar (24) and two other persons. After having a beer party with Roza on December 11, he suffocated her with a pillow. The police, who had initially registered a case of suspicious death, later found evidence of Vedha’s involvement, following which she was booked as the prime accused. Inspector Krishna Reddy said they arrested Vedha, Ramesh and Shekhar, while the two accused tried to escape.
