Entertainment: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is receiving widespread love and praise for his performance as the immortal ‘Ashwatthama’ in his recently released film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Now, actress Shraddha Kapoor has also joined the list of those who are praising the megastar. After watching the film, Shraddha could not stop herself from praising Big B in her own special way. The post read, “Kya Uttar, Kya South, Kya East, Kya West… Sara Cinema Ek Taar, Amitabh Bachchan Ek Taar.” The caption of her post read, amitabhbachchan is a cinematic universe in itself.” As soon as the post was shared, fans poured in their reactions in the comments section. “He is doing this at the age of 81, what a wonderful person,” wrote a user. Another user commented, “Did you get goosebumps when he said “Dronacharya ka putra Ashwatthama”?” ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ got a bumper opening.
According to the makers, the film grossed Rs 191.5 crore worldwide at the box office across languages on its opening day.Directed by Nag Ashwin, this post-apocalypse film is inspired by Hindu scriptures and is set in the year 2898 AD. Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani are also a part of the film.The film is a mythology-inspired sci-fi film set in the future.Ahead of the film’s release on June 27, the makers held a grand event in Mumbai.During the event, Big B shared his experience of working in the film and how he felt after hearing the script. He also praised the film’s director Nag Ashwin for coming up with such a great concept.
He said, “Naagi came and explained the idea of Kalki 2898 AD. After he left, I thought, what is Naagi drinking after all? It’s absolutely absurd to think like that. Some of the scenes you have just seen are unbelievable. To have someone who is such a futuristic project is amazing.” Big B said, “Whatever Nag Ashwin may have thought of, he has indeed got all the material and effects that match his vision. Working for Kalki 2898AD has been a wonderful experience that I will never forget.”
Actors Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur have made cameos in the film.Meanwhile, on the work front, Shraddha is coming back with ‘Stree 2’, which also stars Rajkummar Rao and Aparshakti Khurana.The sequel of the Amar Kaushik-directed film will hit the theatres on Independence Day on August 15. ‘Stree’ was released in 2018 and was declared a blockbuster hit. A phrase from the film ‘oo stree kal aana’ has been used repeatedly in memes till date.The music of the film also garnered a lot of attention with tracks like ‘Mili milegi’ and ‘Aao kabhi haveli pe’.According to media reports, Shraddha also has Kalpana Chawla’s biopic in the pipeline.
