It is known that there is a shortage of gas cylinders across the country due to the ongoing war situation in West Asia. This problem is now severely affecting the hotel and restaurant sector in Hyderabad city. Especially due to the decrease in the supply of commercial gas cylinders, the managers of hotels, restaurants and hostels are facing severe difficulties. Usually, cooking in hotels is mostly dependent on gas. However, due to the decrease in the supply of gas cylinders, many hotel owners are looking for alternative ways. While some places are using induction stoves, some restaurants have started using the old-fashioned wood-burning stoves again.
Due to the gas shortage, some hotel operators are also making changes to their menus. They are said to be temporarily stopping dishes like dosas and chapatis that require a lot of gas. Food traders are concerned that if the situation continues like this, the prices of food items may increase. They say that some more hotels may even be temporarily closed. In this context, the restaurant run by Young Hero Naga Shaurya’s mother and producer Usha Mulpuri is also facing this problem. ‘Usha Mulpuri Kitchen’ run by her in Hyderabad has already become a popular hotspot for food lovers. The restaurant has earned a good reputation with its special dishes like Andhra cuisine and mutton cooker pulao that remind you of the taste of home cooking.
However, Usha Mulpuri revealed in a video that due to the current gas shortage in the city, her restaurant has to cook on a wood stove. She said that her staff has to work in the middle of smoke since morning. Due to the lack of gas, we have to cook on a wood stove. Our staff starts work from six in the morning. The work is very difficult with the sun on one side and smoke on the other. However, she said that we continue to cook without stopping so as not to disappoint our customers. She also said that despite the gas shortage, we are trying to make some dishes available every day. She said that we are cooking hard with the intention of not letting the guests who come to her restaurant go hungry. She also expressed her opinion that dishes cooked on a wood stove taste better.
