Seven students of Assam Engineering College killed in Guwahati road accident

Guwahati (IANS) | Seven students of Assam Engineering College were killed and six others injured in a road accident in Guwahati on Monday. According to the locals, the accident happened around 2 am. A group of 10 students was traveling by Scorpio. Meanwhile, in Jalukbari area, he lost control of the car and while crossing a divider, hit a pick-up van coming from the opposite direction on the other side of the road.

Scorpio was hired by the students.

Seven students died on the spot. Three others were brought to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in a critical condition.

The seven students killed have been identified as Arindam Bhallal (Guwahati), Nyor Deka (Golaghat district), Kaushik Mohan (Charaideo district), Upangshu Sarmah (Nagaon district), Rajkiran Bhuiyan (Majuli district), Emon Gayan (Dibrugarh) and Kaushik Baruah (Mangaldoi). happened as

Three people in the pickup van that was hit by Scorpio were also admitted to GMCH in critical condition.

The bodies of the dead students have been sent for postmortem. Many engineering college students gathered at GMCH.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed grief over the accident.

He wrote on Twitter, I am deeply saddened by the death of students in the road accident in Jalukbari. My deepest condolences to their parents and families. Have spoken to officials at GMCH. All possible medical assistance is being provided to the injured.
