Dhaka: The lynching of 25-year-old Hindu Deepu Chandra Das in Bangladesh is a well-known incident. The interim government in Bangladesh has arrested seven people in that case. Deepu Das was beaten to death and set on fire in Mymensingh City. There are allegations that Deepu Chandra Das committed blasphemy. He works as a factory worker in that city. He is a worker in the Pioneer Knit Composite Factory. Locals said that there was a campaign against Das in the factory itself, which created an atmosphere of tension there, and that an angry mob attacked him and beat him severely, resulting in his death. After beating him to death, his body was dumped near the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway and set on fire, said Inspector Abdul Malek. Deepu’s father, Ravilal Das, said that he came to know about his son’s death through social media.
