Karnataka : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “We will soon create a separate department for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME).
Inaugurating the Amrit Mahotsav of Karnataka Small Industries Association (KASSIA) on Saturday, he said, “The MSME department is with the Commerce Department. The Commerce Department, the secretary and officers of the department are not available. It seems that they have too much work. Therefore, they are not able to give time to MSME. To avoid this problem, I will create a separate department.”
“There are more than 20 lakh MSMEs in the state. They have provided a total of 1.85 crore jobs. This sector, which is contributing to the state’s economy at this stage, needs a separate department. We will appoint a separate minister, secretariat and secretary to the department,” he said.
