Bombay Stock Exchange BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty Indian shares opened in the red on Wednesday but soon moved into positive territory ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision and commentary later in the day. The BSE Sensex opened 58.60 points or 0.08% lower at 71,073.04 and the NSE Nifty 50 opened 34.85 points or 0.16% lower at 21,487.25.
Later at 10.33 am, BSE Sensex was trading near 71,500 points with a gain of 354.12 points or more than 0.50 per cent. Meanwhile, Nifty is trading at 21,627.10, up over 105.00 points or 0.49 per cent today.
Other sectors including Nifty Bank and Nifty were also trading in the green.
Major stocks rising on Nifty 50 today are Tata Motors, Adani Ports, Coal India, ONGC and Reliance. While L&T, Kotak Bank, Titan, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank remained on top.
