Chandigarh: The school celebrated the achievement of its alumnus Arshdeep Singh after his victory in the ICC T-20 World Cup. Arshdeep Singh’s talent and dedication played a vital role in India’s victory in international cricket. On his return to Chandigarh, the school welcomed him with prayers, cake cutting, garlanding and best wishes. The celebrations were led by Principal Gurnam Kaur Grewal. Shishu Niketan Public, Sector 66, Mohali Van Mahotsav was celebrated in the school by the Kindergarten wing to spread awareness about forest conservation and saving the environment. The students were made aware about the importance of planting trees through a presentation by Ms. Charanjit Kaur. Students of the Primary wing planted saplings in the campus. AKSIPS 123 Smart School, Mohali Investiture ceremony was organized in the campus. Kshitij Verma and Rasgunjit Kaur were elected Head Boy and Head Girl respectively. The Council members took oath for the upcoming session by wearing the badges proudly on their chests.

Van Mahotsav was celebrated in the school in collaboration with Shivanand Chaubey Memorial Charitable Trust. Punjab Additional Director General of Police, CM Security, A.K. Pandey was the chief guest at the event, accompanied by Zirakpur DSP Simranjit Singh and school principal Dr. Parveena Johns Singh. Other dignitaries present at the event included Punjabi actor and comedian B.N. Sharma and founder and chairman of Shivanand Chaubey Memorial Charitable Trust, Mrs. and Mr. Sanjay Chaubey.
GP Public High School, Baltana
The school organised an event to celebrate Van Mahotsav. Problems arising due to deforestation were highlighted through speeches, poems and songs. The little ones enacted a play on “Save Environment, Save Trees”.
Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh
The school has been awarded the Best Institution under Junior Wing and Junior Division of National Cadet Corps (NCC). Cadet Elizee won the Best Anchor award. The honour came during the Combined Annual Training Camp 173rd held at Sector 11 Postgraduate Government College. A total of 350 cadets from nine schools and seven colleges attended the camp to showcase their skills and discipline during the ten days.
