It will arrive at Podanur station at 10:55 AM the following day, Friday (June 26). En route, the train will halt at several major stations, allowing passengers from various cities to benefit from the service.

The train will also operate in the return direction. Train number 06064 will depart from Podanur for Chennai Egmore at 11:55 PM on Sunday (June 28) and arrive at Chennai Egmore station at 11:00 PM on Monday (June 29). Thus, special travel facilities are being provided in both directions.

The composition of this special train has been designed to meet passenger needs. It includes coaches of various categories: one air-conditioned double-decker coach, two air-conditioned three-tier coaches, 12 sleeper coaches, two general second-class coaches, two goods coaches, and one brake van. This arrangement caters to long-distance travelers, general passengers, and freight transport requirements.

According to railway officials, this train is being run specifically to manage the passenger rush during the summer holidays. Passenger traffic between the Chennai and Coimbatore regions is typically high, often leading to a shortage of seats on regular trains; this special train will provide an additional option for travelers. This train will make stops at several key stations along its route, including Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Srirangam, Trichy, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Palani, Udumalai, Pollachi, and Kinathukadavu. Travelers from various districts will benefit directly from these stops, gaining easier access to major cities.

The Railways has announced that ticket bookings for this special train will commence on Wednesday (June 24). Passengers are advised to reserve their seats early, as travel demand is high during the summer season and tickets are likely to sell out quickly.

According to Southern Railway, such special trains are operated regularly to enhance passenger convenience and manage crowds. This service is considered vital for the Chennai–Coimbatore route, which sees heavy traffic due to business, educational, and employment-related travel.

The introduction of this train will bring significant relief to passengers who often struggle to secure seats on regular trains. It promises to be an excellent option, particularly for those undertaking long-distance journeys.

Railway officials have also indicated that additional special trains could be introduced in the coming days, depending on passenger demand. For now, all eyes are on this train, as it is viewed as a crucial transport facility for the summer season.

Overall, the launch of this summer special train between Chennai Egmore and Podanur is welcome news for passengers; it will not only help alleviate crowding but also make travel smoother and more convenient.
