Saudi Arabia to open first alcohol store: Reports
New Delhi: Saudi Arabia is preparing to open its first alcohol store, said reports. As reported by Reuters Saudi Arabia to open its first alcohol store in Riyadh. Of course, the shop will served only non-Muslim diplomats, according to a source familiar with the plans and a document. As per reports, customers will have to register via a mobile app. Also, they need to get a clearance code from the foreign ministry. Besides, the customers also need to respect the monthly quotas with their purchases. The step is very much important as drinking alcohol is forbidden in this country. As per the document, the said store will be located in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, a neighbourhood where embassies and diplomats reside. Reportedly, this is also a part of the wider plans known as Vision 2030 to build a post-oil economy.
