Saudi Arabia Imposes Total Ban On Poultry Egg Imports From 40 Countries

Saudi Arabia: The Arab country of Saudi Arabia has taken a key decision. It has imposed a complete ban on the import of chickens and eggs from a total of 40 countries. Saudi Arabia has revealed that this decision has been taken in view of reasons such as public health and food safety. India is also included in the list of banned countries.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority said the ban was imposed after reviewing global health developments and epidemics. It said a complete ban on poultry and eggs from about 40 countries would be in effect. This list includes countries like India, Afghanistan, China, Germany, Indonesia, the UK, Japan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

In addition, it has imposed partial restrictions on specific areas in 16 other countries. It said that these partial restrictions will apply to countries such as Australia, the United States, Italy, Bhutan, and France. However, Saudi officials revealed that the ban will not apply to poultry meat and its related products that have been heated in accordance with food safety standards.
