Sambalpur: Gutkha worth Rs 2 crore seized from Sambalpur. The GST department seized a truck full of gutkha while it was coming to Sambalpur from Raipur. The consignment, reportedly worth Rs. 2 crore, was found to be carrying more gutkha bags than declared in the bill, apparently to evade GST.
While the bill mentioned that only 20 bags of gutkha were loaded, to evade GST, the vehicle was fully loaded with Gutkha bags.
Authorities are investigating the origin and intended destination of the gutkha, as well as its authenticity. The inquiry aims to uncover who ordered the gutkha and where it was meant to be sold.
