Mumbai: Actor and narrator Vijay Vikram Singh has stated that it is “very difficult” to imagine ‘Bigg Boss’ without Salman Khan, given the superstar’s long-standing association with the reality show.
In an exclusive conversation with the media, the ‘Ikka’ actor described Salman as an “integral” part of the show and spoke about his strong bond with the audience. Sharing his views on Salman Khan’s role as the host, Vijay noted that while ‘Bigg Boss’ could technically continue without any single individual, Salman’s long association has made his presence a crucial element of the show’s identity and its connection with viewers.
He said, “No, no, I might be completely off-base here. If you don’t hear something at 12 PM tomorrow, your life will still go on. Even if Mr. Khan isn’t there, the show can still run. That said, many people are connected to it precisely because Mr. Khan is there.”
Vijay acknowledged Salman’s deep connection with the reality show, stating that it is now hard to envision the current format of ‘Bigg Boss’ without the superstar. He remarked, “So, Salman Sir is an integral part of the show. And it is very difficult to imagine the show without him now—much like it is very difficult to imagine ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ without Rohit Shetty Sir.”
Salman Khan has been associated with ‘Bigg Boss’ for several seasons and has become one of the franchise’s most recognizable faces. The ‘Sultan’ actor began hosting ‘Bigg Boss’ with Season 4 in 2010 and has since become synonymous with the reality show. He continued hosting up to Season 17 and is set to return for the upcoming Season 18.
Before Salman Khan took over as host, Season 1 of ‘Bigg Boss’ was hosted by Arshad Warsi, followed by Shilpa Shetty for Season 2 and Amitabh Bachchan for Season 3. The ‘Kick’ actor then began hosting the show with Season 4 in 2010 and continued in the role until Season 17.
Meanwhile, Vijay Vikram Singh is also deeply associated with “Bigg Boss” and has been serving as the show’s narrator for several seasons. His distinctive voice has become a recognizable part of the reality show.
