New Delhi/Moscow: Just before concluding his important visit to India on Friday evening, Russian President Vladimir Putin posed for a photograph with several staff members of the New Delhi hotel where he was staying, Russian media reported.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin could not refuse some of the staff members of the Indian hotel where he stayed during his two-day state visit to India and posed for a photo with them,” Russia’s leading news agency TASS reported, citing a video posted on a traveling journalist’s Telegram channel. The video shows the Russian president posing for a photo with hotel staff members during his two-day state visit to the Indian capital.
The report further stated, “After posing for a group photo with the hotel representatives, the Russian leader duly responded to their grateful expressions and departed. Those who got a photo with the Russian president immediately began looking at the pictures on the photographers’ cameras.”
Just before his departure, Indian President Droupadi Murmu hosted a state reception in honor of the Russian leader.
Earlier in the day, Putin thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the warm welcome extended to the visiting delegation, and said that he has established “close working and personal contact” with the Indian PM and that together they “constantly monitor” the development of Russian-Indian cooperation in all strategic areas.
Following extensive talks with PM Modi at Hyderabad House during the 23rd India-Russia annual summit, the Russian president said, “The talks we just had with our Indian colleagues, as well as the face-to-face conversation with Mr. Modi at his residence last night over dinner – I want to thank you again for this sign of attention – these talks were very useful, and took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, in the spirit of a particularly privileged partnership between Russia and India.” He further stated, “I would like to note that the Prime Minister and I have established close working and personal contact. We met at the SCO summit in September this year, regularly speak on the phone, and constantly monitor the development of Russian-Indian cooperation in all strategic areas, as well as the progress of key bilateral projects.”
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed all aspects of India-Russia relations, which remain deep and multifaceted. They also reiterated their mutual commitment to further strengthening the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia, and discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Putin noted that both sides “thoroughly and comprehensively examined” the entire range of current issues of Russian-Indian multifaceted cooperation and exchanged views on pressing global and regional issues.
He said, “The joint statement that we adopted with Mr. Modi outlines priority objectives for further strengthening relations in politics and security, economy, trade, humanitarian affairs and culture. As you have seen, a large package of intergovernmental, interdepartmental and corporate agreements was also signed.”
The leaders witnessed the exchange of several documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), covering areas such as trade and commerce; migration and mobility; maritime cooperation; health and food security; fertilizers; educational exchanges; media cooperation; and enhancing people-to-people ties.
