Jajpur: A fraud of Rs 90 lakh was uncovered in the Madhu Babu pension scheme in Binjharpur block of Jajpur district in Odisha.
The matter came to light when Binjharpur BDO Dibyendu Kumar Das has lodged a complaint against the Block Security officer Dharmendra Sahoo for embezzling funds.
As per complaint, Dharmendra fraudently included 990 ineligible people including teenagers in the pension scheme and embezzled the money. He also made fraudlent signatures of the sub-collector and produced them in the office in order to avail the amount of Rs 90 lakh.
During investigation, the BDO found irregularities of Rs 90 lakh following which he immediately informed the district collector about the incident.
Based on BDO’s complaint, the District collector ordered a probe into the alleged money irregularities and the Binjharpur police registered a case the BSSO.
Till now, no comments have been received from the BSSO.
