Gariaband. The district is experiencing the effects of monsoon activity. Continuous rainfall has caused rivers and streams to overflow. The water level of the Belat Nallah has risen, disrupting communication between 36 villages in the Jhakharpara area of Devbhog and the block headquarters.
Furthermore, flood-like conditions have developed in the Sukh Tel River in the tehsil headquarters of Amlipada. A power pole collapse late last night resulted in a blackout in 100 villages.
Tehsildar Devbhog Ajay Chandravanshi stated that 471 mm of rain fell across seven tehsils of the district on Thursday. Rainfall continued for the second day today, with Amlipada Tehsil recording the highest rainfall of 101 mm. The administration is on high alert due to the flooding of rivers and streams. The Tehsildar, along with his staff, reached the Belat Nallah in Devbhog and erected a rope-lined barricade to prevent movement.
