River Indie electric scooter now available in Hyderabad

Delhi Delhi. Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup River has launched its first retail store in Hyderabad. Located in Kukatpally, the new outlet is spread over 1,000 sq ft and houses River’s flagship product the Indie electric scooter along with accessories and merchandise. The store marks River’s first presence in the state in collaboration with Sri Rajarajeshwar EV Mobility. The River Indie e-scooter is priced at Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad). After launching in Bengaluru in 2023, its price was hiked by Rs 13,000 in January 2024.

Pre-booked e-scooters have already started getting delivered on the opening day. Co-founder and CEO Arvind Mani expressed excitement about the expansion: “After the success of our flagship store in Bengaluru, we are excited to launch in Hyderabad. The demand for electric scooters in Telangana is very high and the initial pre-orders from Hyderabad are proof of this. Our aim is to establish the River Indy as a distinct vehicle in the segment, offering both style and convenience. Looking ahead, we plan to expand to over 100 cities in the next two years, with a focus on delivering a great customer experience.

The Indy electric scooter comes with a host of great features including a 6-inch high-contrast colour display, two USB ports and low-speed reverse parking assist. It offers three ride modes: Eco, Ride and Rush. Powered by a 6.7 kW mid-mounted motor, the Indy can reach a top speed of 90 kmph and accelerate from 0-40 kmph in less than 4 seconds. Its fixed lithium-ion battery pack has a capacity of 4 kWh, offering a true range of up to 120 km in Eco mode. The Indy was also awarded the ‘Scooter of the Year’ title at the 2024 Car and Bike Awards. River’s entry into Hyderabad is a significant step in their expansion plan, which aims to reach over 100 cities in the next two years, offering customers an exceptional experience and sustainable transportation options.
