Rishikesh: Doon Police launched cleanliness campaign in Rishikesh

Rishikesh: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti festival, a large-scale cleanliness campaign was conducted in Rishikesh area by Doon Police under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun. The police team, along with the local people, cleaned the dirt spread on the ghats and embankments of the Ganga, a symbol of people’s faith. Under the campaign, the 150 year old Shri Raghunath temple was also cleaned and the message of cleanliness was given to the common people.

Rishikesh Police under the leadership of SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh and the recruited constables undergoing training at Police Line Dehradun conducted a massive cleaning campaign to clean the dirt spread in the Ganga Ghats and embankments along the Ganga in Rishikesh area. During the cleanliness campaign, Doon Police along with the local people and business community spread the message of cleanliness among the tourists and general public visiting the banks of Ganga. Along with this, the tourists and local people who came to visit Mother Ganga were made aware of not spreading filth on the Ganga ghats while maintaining the purity of Mother Ganga and also made the people around them aware about cleanliness and Swachh Bharat.

During this time, the entire temple complex was cleaned by the police by conducting a cleaning campaign in the 150 year old Shri Raghunath temple of Lord Shri Ram located in Rishikesh area. After the cleanliness campaign, SSP Dehradun performed the Aarti of Maa Ganga along with the officers present and took blessings of Maa Ganga, wishing for the well-being of everyone.
