Agartala: Assam Rifles honored ex-servicemen and ‘veer naris’ of Tripura on the important occasion of its 189th Raising Day. A total of 56 ex-servicemen and 6 ‘Veer Naris’ participated in the event held at Agartala Garrison on Saturday, March 23. The objective of this program was to promote harmony and instill pride among the ex-servicemen by addressing their grievances. According to an official release, during the meeting, various issues faced by ex-servicemen and ‘veer naris’ were looked into and their concerns were listened to carefully.
Apart from this, ex-servicemen and their families were given information about various government welfare schemes. It said a lunch was organized for all present, which enhanced the feeling of camaraderie and gratitude.
The program also included felicitation of ‘Veer Naris’ of two deceased soldiers of 107 INF Bn (TA) 11 GR who made the supreme sacrifice during the landslide in Manipur.
The release said the ex-servicemen and ‘veer naris’ expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles officers for their unwavering support and care. (ANI)
