Tirumala: Two months ahead of the annual Brahmotsavam at Tirumala, TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary has directed all officials to gear up for this big religious festival. The first review meeting on Salakatala Brahmotsavam was held with concerned officials at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala on Saturday to discuss engineering works, fitness check of vehicles, laddu stock, annaprasadam, darshan and accommodation, security arrangements of TTD vigilance and security wing in coordination with police, kalyankatta, transport, HDPP, garden, medical, health, goods, Srivari sevaks, etc. The important days in the annual Brahmotsavam include Dhwajarohanam on October 4, Garuda Seva on October 8, Golden Chariot on October 9, Rathotsavam on October 11 and Chakra Snanam on October 12. The morning vahanams will start at 8 am and the evening vahanams at 7 pm. Anticipating a huge rush of pilgrims for Garuda Seva, the ban on two-wheelers will be in place from 11 pm on October 7 to midnight of October 8. The TTD has cancelled all Arjitha Sevas and special darshans including for senior citizens-divyangs, NRIs, parents with infants during this period. CE Nageswara Rao, temple deputy EO Lokanatham, principal Prof Ravi and heads of various departments were also present.
