Revanth gave the charge of Bhongir to Rajagopal

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is holding all the Lok Sabha election preparation meetings of the Congress at his residence. However, on Wednesday he went to the residence of his party MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy in Hyderabad to attend a meeting on Bhongir area.

During the meeting, the CM handed over the responsibility of leading the grand old party’s campaign in Bhongir to Rajagopal Reddy.
According to sources, Revanth had gone to Rajagopal’s residence to convince him as he expected his family members to get the ticket from Bhongir and seek support for the party’s candidate Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is a close confidant of Revanth.

The Chief Minister supported Kiran’s candidature, although the Komatireddy brothers lobbied hard, demanding tickets for their family members.
It is pertinent to note that Rajagopal Reddy represented the Bhongir constituency in 2009 and his brother Venkat Reddy represented the same constituency in 2019. Thus, the Komatireddy family enjoys a significant electoral clout in the region.

During the 2022 Munugode by-election, Rajagopal and Revanth were at loggerheads with each other and their enmity continued after that. However, just before the recent assembly elections, Revanth publicly welcomed Rajagopal into the Congress and offered to “climb down two steps” in the best interest of the party.
Now, Revanth went to Rajagopal’s residence and sought support for Kiran Kumar Reddy.
During the meeting, the CM reportedly asked the cadre and leaders to strengthen the party at the booth level and campaign extensively in every area.

Party plans rally on April 21
Speaking to the media later, Rajagopal said he would hold a series of meetings with grassroots party leaders in all the seven constituencies falling under Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency from April 12 to 18.
He said that along with Revanth, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy will attend the party’s nomination rally on April 21.
Rajagopal said, “We will get a majority of two lakh in Bhongir.” He said that BJP has no base in this area.

Priyanka will campaign in Nalgonda in May
AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is likely to campaign in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, covering Bhongir and Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituencies, in the first week of May, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy informed his party colleagues during the Bhongir LS segment election preparation meeting on Wednesday. .
Party leaders have decided to organize large-scale public rallies in Choutuppal under Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency and Miryalaguda under Nalgonda constituency. It may be mentioned here that Congress has won in both these areas even when it faced defeat in the country as a whole.
Priyanka’s presence gave good results to the party in the recent assembly elections. For example, areas like Palakurthi, which the Congress considered difficult to win, became easier for the party after Priyanka’s campaign. Sources said the party will try to organize more such meetings before the elections, which will be addressed by Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi.
