Rest house for workers: Minister C.V. Ganesan inaugurated

Tamil Nadu: Labor Welfare and Skill Development Minister C.V. Ganesan inaugurated renovated rest homes for trade union representatives and organized workers on Saturday.

The Tamil Nadu Workers Welfare Board operates holiday homes in tourist destinations like Courtallam, Mamallapuram, and Valparai, where workers can stay with their families, and the Jiva Home in Chennai, which is used to house trade union representatives. The Jiva Ella Building in Chennai, renovated to house trade union representatives, was renovated at a cost of ₹1.38 crore, and the Jawaharlal Nehru Rest Home in Mamallapuram, renovated to house organized workers, their families, and the general public, was renovated at a cost of ₹3.01 crore.

The renovated buildings were inaugurated on Saturday by Labor Welfare and Skill Development Minister C.V. Ganesan. The event was attended by State Secretary for Labour Welfare and Skill Development K. Veeraraghava Rao and Labour Commissioner A. Raman.
