Raipur. Dr. Rohit Yadav, the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies, took charge on 4 October at Vidyut Seva Bhawan in the morning. He is a senior IAS officer of 2002 batch. He has been given the responsibility of Chairman along with Secretary of Energy Department. Recently, he has returned from deputation from the Prime Minister’s Office. He thanked the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and talked about making Chhattisgarh a leading state in the country in the field of energy.
Dr. Yadav also addressed the officers after taking charge. He said that Chhattisgarh is recognized as a power surplus state in the whole country. Anything said by Chhattisgarh in the field of energy has weight in the Central Government. He said that we have done a lot of work in the field of energy in Chhattisgarh and a lot of work is to be done in future because in future the demand for energy is going to increase on a large scale not only in the whole country but also in Chhattisgarh, so work is going on on a large scale expansion plan, whether it is a thermal plant or hydel or renewable energy. The Government of India is very keen that we bring new technologies to our state and increase energy production. For this, the Government of India is ready to help, whether it is financial assistance or consultancy, it is available.
Dr. Yadav said that I think we also have a lot of challenges. Now the quality of power has started being talked about, earlier we used to talk about quantity of power. Now we have to focus on quality of power. For this, reform has to be done on a large scale. Work is going on on smart meters, new scheme PM Suryaghar Yojana.
He said that I have been learning about power for the last five years. Here also if the officers have any new idea, want to do something new, then they can share it with me. We will perform very well as a team.
