Bhilai: Jamul police has succeeded in catching 5 buffaloes being illegally transported to slaughter food. Information was received from the informer that vehicle DI-CG07CN2670 is coming from Gokul Nagar Road Kurud Basti to take cattle to slaughter food. On receiving the information, senior officers were informed about the information. On the orders of the Superintendent of Police, immediate action was taken on which, taking the incident seriously, instructions were given to catch the accused transporting the cattle as soon as possible and take action against them.
In this connection, a joint team of Additional Superintendent of Police Sukhnandan Rathore (city), City Superintendent of Police Cantonment Harish Patil, Jamul police station in-charge inspector Kapil Dev Pandey, assistant sub-inspector Keshendra Singh Chauhan and Jamul patrolling was constituted and a team was sent to catch the accused transporting cattle. Jamul police party reached the spot and surrounded the vehicle mentioned by the informer in front of Munna Qureshi Khatal in Kurud Basti Gokul Nagar Road and caught it. 05 buffaloes were found stuffed completely in the vehicle DI without any feed and water.
On interrogating the driver, he told that he was from Gokul Nagar Kurud police station Jamul district Durg and that he was taking the said buffaloes to the slaughter house in the vehicle and on the way he had to buy more cattle to take to the slaughter house, for which he had kept Rs. 25,000, which he disclosed before witnesses as 05 buffaloes worth about Rs. 4,00,000. And a vehicle DI- CG07CN2670 worth about Rs. 10,00,000 and cash amount of Rs. 25,000, totaling Rs. 14,25,000 was seized as evidence and the accused driver was found to have committed the crime of cruelly transporting the said animal for slaughter and taking it to the slaughter house. The accused Mohammad Intezar was arrested on 17.09.2024 at 13.30 pm and produced in the court on judicial remand. He is lodged in District Jail Durg.
