Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India on Friday reshuffled the departments of its deputy governors. Poonam Gupta, who recently took charge, has been given the key charge of the monetary policy department. RBI has four deputy governors. The central bank has reshuffled the departments after Gupta’s appointment and taking charge as deputy governor. Apart from monetary policy, he has been given the responsibility of seven other departments including corporate strategy and budget, communication and financial stability. M Rajeshwar Rao will take charge of six departments including coordination, regulation, enforcement and risk monitoring. He was handling the monetary policy department since Michael Debabrata Patra retired in January. Deputy Governor T Rabi Shankar will take charge of 12 departments. These include Central Security Cell, Information Technology, Payment and Settlement Systems, Foreign Exchange Department and Fintech etc.
