Punjab: Reacting to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the condition of the Sikh community in India, Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Bittu today said Rahul’s statement was aimed at dividing the country. He said there was no difference between Rahul and pro-Khalistan Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. He said his remarks were an indication to the radical elements who want to establish Khalistan. “Rahul has a habit of crying. First he made statements on Muslims and OBCs. Now he has added fuel to the fire by saying things supported by people like Pannu,” Bittu said. “He has supported the referendum demanded by radicals for the last three decades. There is no difference between Pannu and Rahul,” the minister of state said. “It pains you to see Modi sahab in power. This is how you are trying to play with the sentiments of Sikhs. From 1980 to 1992, the Gandhi family instigated violence in the state. Once again they are trying to do the same,” Bittu said. Speaking on the referendum for the establishment of Khalistan, Bittu said, “Punjabis are not in favour of Khalistan. However, there is a vacuum in the Sikh leadership due to which these issues are raised again and again. Till the time Sikhs do not get good leaders – people like Pannu and Rahul will keep exploiting them.”
