Rape of minor, court sentenced to life imprisonment

Sehore: The court of Special Judge Dr. Vaibhav Vikas Sharma in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh pronounced life imprisonment till the remaining natural life in a rape case. According to Special Public Prosecutor Pankaj Raghuvanshi, who advocated on behalf of the government, the complainant (victim) had come to the police station along with her father and her younger brother and lodged a verbal report.
It was told in the report that I am 13 years old and have studied till class eighth. I have come from Betul with my parents to work as a goat labourer. Here they are camping under a tree in the grounds near Baktara Mata Temple.
In the report, the victim said that on April 20, 2022, everyone went to sleep after eating and drinking at around 10 pm. Around 11.30 pm, I was sleeping when someone came and lay down on me. When I suddenly woke up, I saw that Sitaram Basudeva from our village had come with us. I got scared and screamed and my parents, who were sleeping nearby, woke up. Meanwhile, Sitaram ran away from there and said that if I tell this to anyone, I will kill him. Then when asked, I told the whole thing to my parents and grandmother. After that a report was lodged in the police station. Based on the said report, a crime was registered by police station Shahganj and after investigation the case was presented before the court.
In this case the prosecution was successful in proving its case beyond reasonable doubt. Special Judge Dr. Vaibhav Vikas Sharma Budni Court found the accused Sitaram Vasudeva, father Phoolsingh Vasudeva (26), resident of Betul Hall, Baktra police station, Shahganj, guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment for the remaining natural life and a fine of Rs. 6,000 under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act. Heard.
