UP. In Kanpur’s Sen Paschim Para area, on Saturday night, the accused took advantage of the darkness and raped a female head constable who was coming from Ayodhya to her in-laws house to celebrate Karva Chauth, in a field near the village. The constable resisted during this, in which one of her teeth also broke. Taking advantage of the darkness, the accused ran away. The woman informed the police. The police registered a case and arrested the accused Dharmendra alias Kallu within a few hours.
She was coming on foot in plain clothes. Sen Paschim Para police station in-charge Gautam Singh said that the in-laws of the female head constable posted in Ayodhya is in a village in Sen Paschim Para area. On Saturday night at around 7:30, the head constable was coming on foot in plain clothes towards the village after getting down at Pali. Taking advantage of the darkness on the deserted road and road, a person caught her and took her to a millet field and tore her clothes and raped her. The head constable resisted the accused and bit one of his fingers and made noise by scratching her nails, after which a crowd of people gathered in some time. Seeing the crowd coming, the accused fled from the spot. The victim immediately informed the police.
A tooth of the head constable was also broken in the scuffle with the accused. The police reached the spot and conducted a search operation and caught the accused late at night. ACP Ghatampur Ranjeet Singh said, Dharmendra alias Kallu, a resident of Sen Paschim Para area, has been arrested on the charge of rape and has been sent to jail. The victim has been given a medical check-up.
