Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand on Saturday said the investigation into the Rameshwaram cafe blast in which 10 people were injured has been handed over to the Central Crime Branch and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
In a post on ‘X’ he said, “The investigation of the case has been handed over to the Central Crime Branch (CCB). All the injured are recovering. No arrests have been made.” Earlier in the day, police sources said four people have been detained for questioning in connection with yesterday’s low-intensity bomb blast at an eatery in Bengaluru. They were picked up from Dharwad, Hubli and Bengaluru.
Dayanand said that investigation into the incident, which was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), is in full swing.
“Multiple teams are working on various leads received so far,” he said.
Dayanand said, “Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the matter and security concerns, we appeal to the media not to indulge in speculation and cooperate.”
Meanwhile, security has been tightened across Bengaluru, especially at the Kempegowda International Airport, M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, bus stand, railway station and other areas where large gatherings took place, following the incident that took place in Brookfield, one of the city’s IT corridors. People come in large numbers.
Bengaluru Police have registered a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act in connection with the blast at the popular quick service eatery.
