Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has handed over the investigation of the Bengaluru cafe blast case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Sources gave this information on Monday. Sources have also confirmed that NIA has already registered an FIR in this case. NIA officials will investigate the entire case by coordinating with the state police. Sources further said that the documents and findings of the investigation so far will be handed over by CCB, the special branch of the state police, by Tuesday.
NIA, RAW and NSG officials visited the spot and collected evidence. On Sunday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had said that if the need was felt, his government would hand over the investigation of the entire case to the NIA. BJP had demanded investigation of the entire matter by NIA. BJP had accused the state government of taking this matter lightly. At the same time, BJP also targeted the statement of Deputy CM DK Shivkumar and Home Minister G Parameshwara in which they had said that this blast could be due to business rivalry. The blast took place on March 1. Police have identified the person who carried out the blast on the basis of CCTV footage. 10 people were injured in this bomb blast, out of which one woman is admitted in ICU.
