Mumbai: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has demanded an investigation into the death of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar in a plane crash. He said his death is a huge loss for Maharashtra. ‘Today Maharashtra has lost a great leader. He was a member of the Mahayuti alliance. He did a lot for Maharashtra. This is a huge loss for us. We are deeply shocked,’ he said. ‘This incident is not good for us. Therefore, we demand an investigation. The Maharashtra government will conduct an investigation,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar left Mumbai on a chartered flight on Wednesday morning to participate in the election campaign in Baramati district. The plane crashed while landing in Baramati and caught fire. A total of five people, including Ajit Pawar, two pilots and two security personnel, died in the accident.
