A man and a woman have been arrested in a theft case of Rs 15 lakh. Rajendra Vishwakarma lodged a report at Mana police station that he lives in Sharda Vihar Temri. The applicant had locked his house at 05.30 pm on 24.09.24 and went to Madhya Pradesh. On 25.09.24, the applicant was informed by his neighbor over the phone that the lock of the gate of his house is broken and there has been a theft in his house. On receiving the information, the applicant reached his house on 26.09.2024 and saw that the lock of the main gate was broken. When he entered the room, the lock of the cupboard and drawer was broken and the silver jewelry and cash kept in it were missing. Some unknown thief broke the lock of the main gate of the applicant, entered the house, broke the lock of the cupboard locker and stole the goods kept in it and fled. On which crime number 414/24 under section 331(4), 305, 3(5) B.N.S. was registered against the unknown accused in Thana Mana. Thana Mana
chhattisgarh news On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Mana Police started to trace the unknown accused by making detailed inquiries from the applicant, his neighbor and the people around him regarding the incident. Along with inspecting the incident site by the team members, the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the incident site and its surroundings, informers were also deployed in the case to trace the unknown accused. During this time, the team members received important information regarding the unknown accused involved in the incident. On which Ritesh Netam, resident of Kachana Khamhardih, was traced and caught by the team members. During interrogation, accused Ritesh Netam told that he along with his accomplices Sameer Soni and Sagar Jogi had committed the above theft and also told that Sameer Soni’s wife Jyoti Soni had kept the stolen gold and silver jewellery. On which the team members traced and caught the female accused Jyoti Soni involved in the case.
Both the accused were arrested and stolen gold and silver jewellery (gold weighing about 17 tolas and silver weighing about 01 kg 14 grams) worth about Rs. 15,50,000/- was seized from their possession and action was taken against the accused. Accused Ritesh Netam has previously been imprisoned in cases of theft and assault from Telibandha police station. Accused Sameer Soni and Sagar Jogi involved in the case are absconding and every possible effort is being made to trace and arrest them.
