Raipur: Hospital fined for throwing medical waste on the road

Raipur: Today, Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra reviewed the progress of various works and schemes in a weekly review meeting held in the third floor hall of the Municipal Corporation Headquarters building Mahatma Gandhi Sadan and gave instructions to the officers. In the weekly review meeting held in the presence of Raipur Smart City Limited COO Ujjwal Porwal, Additional Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Gupta, Pankaj Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Krishna Khatik, Chief Engineer UK Dhalendra, all zone commissioners, executive engineers, department in-charge officers, corporation officers and employees were informed about various activities related to various social and national welfare works of the Indian Red Cross Society. On getting information about this, the corporation officers and employees took spontaneous interest and came forward to become members of the Indian Red Cross Society Chhattisgarh State Branch and by filling the membership form given by the representative officer there and immediately paying the required fee, completed the formalities of becoming a member of the Red Cross Society State Branch and pledged to actively participate in the welfare works of the society and the nation by joining them throughout their life.

In the TL meeting, the Commissioner has directed the Zone Commissioners and Zone Health Officers to take action by issuing notices to the concerned hospitals who dump medical waste here and there on the roadside and to impose fines on them. The Commissioner has directed the Zone Commissioners and Zone Health Officers to run a campaign to practically ban the use of banned polythene in various big markets and to take action by imposing fines on those who keep polythene and spread garbage. The Commissioner has directed the Zone Commissioners to ensure that one mega event is organized in each zone under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan being run from 17th September to 2nd October as per the instructions of the Central Government, Chhattisgarh Government and Raipur District Administration.

The Commissioner has directed all the Zone Commissioners and Executive Engineers to ensure that all the applications related to public grievances received from the citizens in the Jan Samasya Nivaran Pakhwada camps organized in all the 70 wards of Raipur Municipal Corporation as per the instructions of the State Government’s Urban Administration and Development Department are resolved on priority basis in the public interest. The Commissioner has directed to ensure that the development works in progress in the Municipal Corporation area are completed at a fast pace on priority basis and to pay special attention to the time limit and quality in all the development works.
