The project of Raipur Smart City Limited, operated for 24-hour water supply to the urban dense population, is now in its final stage. The Smart City Management has completed the commissioning and testing of the pipeline laid under this project. By the end of October, 27 thousand houses in the ABD area of Raipur Smart City will have 24-hour water supply.
According to Abinash Mishra, Managing Director of Raipur Smart City Limited, the 24X7 water supply project was started in the year 2022 and in the initial survey, 25 thousand houses were identified for it.
After an intensive survey, now 27 thousand houses have been connected to this project. Automatic meter readers will be used for reading water supply. 5 liters of water per minute will be supplied from each tap under this project. The cost of the project was fixed at Rs 158 crore, due to which this project has been completed at a lower cost. By the end of October, one and a half lakh population of ABD area will start getting the benefit of this project. While this project will curb illegal tap connections, it will also provide 24-hour water supply to homes in a cost-effective manner.
