Raipur. The body of a middle-aged patient was found hanging from a noose behind the bushes near the boundary wall of AIIMS campus at Tatibandh. This patient named Mahendra Kumar Upadhyay, a resident of Rewa MP, had disappeared from the emergency medical room of AIIMS 3 days ago during treatment.
Police say that due to some problem in the brain, the patient was brought here for treatment by his two sons. On September 6, a missing person report was lodged at the police station. On September 9, on the instructions of the police, the security personnel of AIIMS had given instructions to search in deserted places in the campus itself.
After that, his body was found hanging in a tin hut at the back of a shed built near the boundary wall to install a generator. Due to the bushes behind and around the shed, this hut is not visible from a distance. According to the Amanaka police station, the CCTV footage installed on the road outside AIIMS was examined. The records of 12 hours were checked on the intervening night of 5-6 September. The patient was not seen leaving the hospital campus. On this basis, an investigation was conducted inside the AIIMS campus itself. Then the body of the deceased was found. However, now the police is questioning the family members.
