Ghaziabad: The district administration has taken a tough stance regarding the loss of life during the recent heavy rainfall in the district. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar has ordered a thorough investigation into the four rain-related deaths. He has clearly stated that if the investigation reveals negligence on the part of any department or official, strict action will be taken against those involved.
The District Magistrate stated that the administration has come to know of four separate incidents in the district during the rains, in which people have lost their lives. Taking all these cases seriously, detailed reports have been sought from the concerned departments. He has instructed officials to thoroughly investigate each incident and determine the actual causes of the accidents.
DM Ravindra Kumar stated that the administration’s priority is ensuring public safety. If any death occurred due to departmental negligence, mismanagement, or lack of responsibility, the culprits will be held accountable. He stated that based on the investigation report, strict action will be taken against the concerned officials or employees as per the rules.
He stated that post-mortems are being conducted on the bodies of all the deceased to clarify the facts surrounding the incidents. Following the completion of the post-mortems, financial assistance will be provided to the families of the deceased, as per government instructions.
The District Magistrate stated that a relief amount of Rs. 4 lakh will be provided to the families of each deceased. This assistance will be released soon to provide financial support to the affected families in this time of crisis.
The administration has instructed all relevant departments to remain vigilant in view of the situation arising after the rains. Municipal bodies, drainage, electricity, and other departments have been asked to continuously monitor the arrangements in their respective areas and take timely action to prevent any potential danger.
According to officials, waterlogging, drainage, and other problems were reported at several locations during the heavy rains. The administration is now reviewing these incidents to better manage such situations in the future and prevent loss of life.
The District Magistrate stated that better coordination between all departments is essential in disaster-like situations. He directed officials to prioritize public complaints and resolve them immediately.
The district administration has also appealed to citizens to exercise caution during the rains and avoid any dangerous or waterlogged areas. The administration states that every possible measure is being taken to ensure public safety and that those who are negligent will not be spared under any circumstances.
