Raghu Dixit’s project is ready to be presented at Paris Olympics

Raghu Dixit: Singer and composer Raghu Dixit’s multilingual folk music band, The Raghu Dixit Project is all set to perform at the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. The band will perform at the Olympic House of India at Parc de la Villette on July 29 and 30, with an hour-long performance each day. The Paris Olympics are scheduled to be held from July 26 to August 11. Beaming with joy, Raghu expressed his excitement to perform on the global stage and said that the joy of representing the country can never be forgotten. It is always an honour to represent India. We have performed at Cannes for a few years. The best part is that the show is not just for the delegates but the general public can also join in. “I noticed that the energy was always high during our show. We are following the same rule that everyone should dance their hearts out during our performance,” he said. “Whoever is in the audience, everyone should dance.” The music lineup will include traditional poems by 19th-century poet Shishunala Sharif. “We also have some poems by Kabir and Kannada poet DR Bendre. You can expect a lot of fusion music,” Raghu said. “Our idea is to bring Indian philosophy to the stage. All the songs are about recognising our strengths. We hope the audience and athletes listening to these songs will discover their inner strength to overcome their limitations.” Known for his folk costumes, Raghu will be seen in a completely new avatar during his performance at the Paris Olympics 2024. His new look has been designed by Bengaluru-based designers Sanjay and Seema. He is a prominent face in the Kannada music industry. He has scored music for several big Indian films such as Quick Gun Murugan, Shankar IPS, Son of Satyamurthy, Mujhse Friendship Karoge, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bewakoofiyaan, Saif Ali Khan’s Chef and Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy. Last year, Raghu made his acting debut with the Kannada film Bang. Apart from the Raghu Dixit Project, other Indian origin artists performing at the mega sports festival include singer Shaan, Penn Masala Tommy Khosla and Jawari.
