Warangal: Alleging that the new guidelines issued by the State government regarding the proposed crop loan waiver will adversely affect farmers, CPI(M) politburo member B V Raghavulu urged the State government to amend the guidelines. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Raghavulu said the way the guidelines have been framed will cause great harm to most of the farmers.
He objected to not considering Raithu Mithra and tenant farmers having identity cards eligible for the waiver and said it will adversely affect many tenant farmers and small and marginal farmers. The senior CPI(M) leader urged the government to immediately amend the guidelines to include all eligible farmers in the scheme. “I urge the government to amend the guidelines so that all farmers can get the benefit of the scheme. Without including tenant farmers in the scheme, it has no meaning,” he said. Commenting on the local body elections, he said the state government should conduct census and caste count before holding the elections.
