PWD minister hoisted the tricolor at Thodo ground

Solan. A program was organized on Republic Day at Thodo Ground in Solan. In which Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh participated. He said that to build a completely self-reliant Himachal, we all will have to work unitedly. Vikramaditya Singh said that the state government is continuously working to spread the benefits of development to the people through better road network in the state, to create more employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth and to make the state a model of development through innovative schemes.

Earlier, Vikramaditya Singh hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the grand marchpast organized by Police, Home Defence, National Cadet Corps and NSS. To provide relief to the people affected by the disaster, the Chief Minister released a special package of Rs 4500 crore from his own resources and increased the compensation amount by 25 times so that the suffering humanity can get relief. 90 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) and 25 posts of Work Inspector are being filled in the Public Works Department in the state. 874 posts of Patwari are being filled in the Revenue Department and 1450 posts of various categories are being filled in the Health Department. 530 posts of spokespersons are being filled through the State Public Service Commission. 1226 police personnel will be recruited in the police department.

The Public Works Minister said that the state government is working for the betterment of all sections of the society. Special emphasis is being given to women empowerment. It has been decided to increase the marriageable age of girls from 18 years to 21 years. He said that villages can be made truly self-reliant only by realizing the vision of village industries of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Vikramaditya Singh said that during the one year tenure of the present government, about Rs 62 crore has been spent on the construction of roads, bridges and buildings in Solan district. 06 road schemes worth Rs 36 crore have been approved under NABARD in the district.

He said that while promoting the industrial sector in Solan district, work will also have to be done to make Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh pollution free.
