Punjab: Youth arrested for making 350 fake IDs

Punjab: Hanumangarh police have arrested Pramod alias Piku Nayak, 20, from Rawatsar. He had created more than 350 fake Instagram accounts and earned US dollars by sharing pornographic videos of women and children. The arrest was made after a detailed investigation by the police led by Superintendent of Police Arshad Ali. A laptop and five mobile phones were recovered from Pramod, who runs a shop called Shiv Tirpal Bhandar in Rawatsar. These devices contained several pornographic videos and screenshots of payments he received for sharing inappropriate content through Instagram and Telegram.

The police found that Pramod had earned around Rs 1.5 lakh by sharing the videos. He had been carrying out this illegal activity for some time. He was using fake identities to avoid identification. During interrogation, Pramod revealed that he had created 300 to 350 fake Instagram IDs through which he used to distribute pornographic content and receive payments in foreign currency. Pramod has been booked under relevant sections of the BNS Act and the IT Act. The cyber team is continuing to analyse his devices to gather more evidence about his activities.
