Punjab: Woman hits 9-year-old girl with iron rod, throws boiling water on her

Ludhiana: A woman has been arrested for hitting a nine-year-old girl with an iron rod and throwing water on her in Santokh Nagar, police said on Sunday. According to the police, in his complaint submitted on Sunday, the girl’s father said that the incident happened last week. He said a case has been registered at the Daresi Commissariat and they are conducting a search to detain the woman. Police said complainant Parvez Alam and the accused were living in a building in Shivpuri, Santokh Nagar. Harpreet Singh, Inspector of Police Commissionerate, Daresi, said, they are laborers and residents of Darbanga in Bihar. Police said Alam said the woman entered the building while her daughter was playing and accused her of turning on the water pump. When the girl expressed ignorance about who had lit the bomb, the woman hit her with an iron rod and then sprinkled water on her, he said quoting the complaint. Police said that the girl was first admitted to a nearby hospital, from where she was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh.
