Punjab: Veterans honored at Bib Expo at Military Station

Punjab: The Bib Expo held at Jaipur Military Station ahead of the ‘Honor-Run’ on 8 December offered a unique and thrilling experience. The event featured martial arts demonstrations by Army personnel, including Kalaripayattu, Gatka, Paramotor display and trick riding by 61 Cavalry. Present at the event were Chief Guest Rajasthan Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar, Army Commander Sapta Shakti Command Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, AWWA Regional President Sapta Shakti Command Barinder Jeet Kaur, General Manager State Bank of India Ritu Gaur and Padma Shri and Arjuna Award winner Deepa Malik, who had the honour of presenting the first bibs to the lead runners.

Paralympian Dr Deepa Malik, Asian Marathon Champion Sunita Godara, Sangeeta Bishnoi and Para Athlete Col Anuj Bindra inspired the audience with their motivational speeches. The event was also attended by senior Army officials, students of Army Public Schools and NCC cadets. The Samman Run on December 8 will include time-based categories: 21km, 10km and 5km, as well as a 3km fun run. The event will be flagged off by Minister of Industry and Commerce, IT and Communications Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. Col Amitabh Sharma said the event aims to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of the brave veterans of the Indian Army, as well as promote health awareness.
